"Where am I?": Mobile devices indoor localization
Current Global Navigation Systems (GNSS) enable precise localization of smartphones. However, this precision rapidly vanishes as the device is brought into densely developed urban areas or inside buildings. The purpose of this master thesis will be to work with raw GNSS signals and find the correct balance between carrying the location estimation on the mobile or at the edge of the network, keeping in mind network latency, battery usage and expected accuracy.
- Good coding skills with both low- and high-level programming languages (C/C++, Java, Python, R, Matlab, ...)
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and discuss results
