M.Sc. (B.Sc.): Mapping the urban flow on big cities
Understanding how people move inside big cities is crucial when planning the deployment of public transit resources such as taxis, public transport lines as well as shared vehicles like cars and bikes. Previous research often approaches this problem by predicting the expected demand at regions in these cities based on historical data. However, these approaches often consider these regions individually and not as part of a big system.
The goal of this thesis is to approach this problem by considering the different parts of a city as nodes in a complex system, where the observed states of these elements are interconnected. You will analyze large datasets and build effective predictive models to support the allocation of the aforementioned public resources.
- Experience with Python, R or Julia
- Familiarity with Machine Learning
